Manila pool features two water slides
The children's pool is separate from the deeper pool.

The long awaited Dunkin-Wall Water park/pool in Manila opened Friday afternoon. The Health Department gave the approval at noon on Friday and the lifeguards were ready to open at 1 p.m. If the weather is permitting the pool will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5:30 p.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. for private parties. It will be open on Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. For more information and the cost of booking a private party call Manila City Hall at 561-4437.

City officials had hoped to have the pool completed in June but due to weather and other unforeseen delays it didn't happen. Manila Mayor Wayne Wagner said keeping it open on weekends at least through Labor Day will give the public a chance to visit the pool.

The new Manila pool will be opened on weekends if the weather permits.

"We look forward to having the parking lot, the new street and the inside tile completed for a great season next year," Mayor Wayne Wagner said. "The therapeutic inside pool facility will be opened in the near future. I appreciate all of the council for their hard work and to the citizens of Manila who voted for the tax to make the pool a reality."
