BBQ-Fest Cooking Contest Sept. 7

There will be a BBQ-Fest cooking contest from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sept. 7, at the Cardwell Community Railway in Cardwell, Mo.

It is open to the general public and admission is free. Donations go to help Community Outreach Civic Group's "Repair Ballpark for the Kids" program.

The schedule includes 9 a.m. to noon, "Anything But Contest. Backyard BBQ'er ($25 entry fee); judging at 1:30 p.m.

"I Think I'm a Pro" contest for restaurant and amateur cooks ($50 entry fee). Judging will be at 1:15 p.m. for pulled pork and 2:15 p.m. for ribs.

"I Am the Pro" network professional division ($100 entry fee). Judging will be 2:45 p.m. for pulled pork; 4 p.m. for brisket; and 5:30 p.m. for ribs.

Antique car and car show/contest will be held with a $10 entry fee. Judging will be at 4:30 p.m.

Motorcycle Show/contest entry fee is $10 with judging at 5:30 p.m.

Entry fees can be mailed to Community Outreach Civic Group, P.O. Box 266, Cardwell, Mo. 63829 with team's name, category, and names of the team members. Entry fees should be submitted by Aug. 15.
