Hunter Education course held at Big Lake headquarters
Hunter education instructor Glenda Craine held a hunter education course last week at Big Lake Wildlife Refuge Headquarters.
Hunters born after 1968 must have completed a hunter education course to hunt.
Craine set up different obstacle courses outside of the classroom to help the youth learn about hunter safety. The youth asked landowners permission; tree stands were placed to demonstrate safety; crossing fences; following a mock blood trail looking for game, and more hands-on training tips were shared.
Craine will be offering more hunter education courses in the future. Anyone interested can contact her at the Big Lake Refuge at (870) 564-2419.
