Charles Daniel Goodwin, Jr., 26, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, July 7, 2013, in Blytheville. A lifelong area resident, Daniel was a 2005 graduate of Blytheville High School where he excelled in football. As a senior he represented the Blytheville Chicks in the Arkansas Association East-West All-Star game in Fayetteville. He later received an associates degree from Arkansas Northeastern College, and was employed as a licensed practical nurse in the surgery department at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Daniel loved hunting, fishing and camping and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Dewitt.
Survivors include his daughter, Charlie Grace Goodwin of Blytheville; his mother and stepfather, Anita Gail Miller and Joseph Miller of Blytheville; his father and stepmother, Danny Goodwin and Beth Goodwin of Dewitt; two sisters, Alicia Riggs, and her husband, Jackie, of Blytheville and JoDee Ann Miller of Blytheville; his grandmother, Patricia Goodwin of Dewitt; two stepbrothers, Jonathan Eggerman, and his wife, Sara of Pleasant Plains and Eli Eggerman of Little Rock; one stepsister, Jenna Sexton, and her husband, Dustin of Almyra. Daniel also leaves his nephews, Jacob and Caleb Riggs of Blytheville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the First Baptist Church in Steele, Mo., with Rev. Michael Funderburk and Rev. Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Cardwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Pallbearers are Donald Hunt, Zach Wilson, Ethan Ballard, Jonathan Eggerman, Eli Eggerman, and Jackie Riggs.
