Bethel Wayne "Butch" Wright

Mr. Bethel Wayne "Butch" Wright, 74, of Trumann died July 3, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro. Mr. Wright was born Aug. 23, 1938 in Manila to the late James Edgar and Ella Morgan Wright. He was of the Baptist faith, known as Pop to his boys and Paw Butch to his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his boys and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Carter Wright of the home; two sons, Ricky Wright and wife Tracy and Jeff Wright and wife Robin, all of Trumann; two brothers, James "Gene" Wright of Lawton, Okla., and Ronnie Bishop of Pocahontas; two sisters, Macil Fortson of Trumann and Rebecca Graves of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren, Hunter Wright and wife Lindsey of Trumann, Nikki Wright of Harrisburg, Courtney Wright of Trumann, April Smallman and husband Jason of Trumann, and Kayli Jones and husband Jacob of Conway; five great-grandchildren, Bryson, Jacee, Bentley Smallman, Drake Wright, and Aubree Baker of Trumann; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Louis Bishop; one son, Nicky Wayne Wright; three sisters, Mildred Warren, Marcella Taylor and Melba Fike; and one brother, James Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Kenny McMahan and Mr. Travis Moody officiating. Interment will be at Willis Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 5, at the church.

Pallbearers were Bart Benson, Bobby Benson, Sr., Bo Hickey, Daniel Miller, Tony Byrd and Gordon LaFarlett. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
