Lake City Council OKs fence removal
Lake City Mayor Jon Milligan introduced Charles Layne, Safety and Loss Department, Craighead Electric, Monday, June 17. Mr. Layne addressed the city council about a privacy fence around the substation location on Catfish Drive in Lake City. He told the council to the best of his knowledge this is the only substation in Northeast Arkansas that has a privacy fence. The fence is a safety hazard to the employees of the utility company and area citizens, and is in need of constant repair. He requested permission from the council to abandon the privacy fence as it serves no purpose, there is a chain link fence surrounding the area already that the utility company maintains.
Council approved the removal of the privacy fence and Craighead Electric agreed to maintain the existing chain link fence.
The Council approved these members of the Lake City Housing Authority Board: Jerry Freeman, Micah Maynard, Sue Hood, Martha Carter and Mary Ann Shaver.
