Mary Lou Stevens, 73, of Bay, widow of Mr. Horace "Friday" Stevens, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her home in Bay. She was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Nettie Muse Jones and had been a lifelong Bay and Jonesboro area resident. She was a 1960 graduate of Bay High School and a member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Arvel Jones.

She is survived by three sons, Vernon Stevens of Jonesboro, James Stevens and his wife Tina of Murray, Ky., and Tommy Stevens and his wife Judy of Bay; one daughter, Helen Engelbrecht of Bay; two brothers,

Lawrence Jones and Jerome Jones, both of Jonesboro; three sisters, Glenda Moman of Brookland, Gail Herndon and Betty Kirksey, both of Jonesboro. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday at the New Harvest Assembly of God Church in Brookland with Rev. Marty Russell officiating. Burial followed in the Nettleton Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Stevens, James Stevens, Cody Sharp, Brandon Stevens, Josh Engelbrecht and Jonathan Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were Vernon Stevens and Sammy Chambers.

The family received visitors Thursday from 11:30 until service time at the church.
