Rex Leon Davis, 86, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 5, 1927, at Enville, Tenn., to the late Dossie and Eltolia Davis. Mr. Davis served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a barber in Memphis for twenty-five years and moved to Caraway in 1977 and worked at Colson Caster for twenty-nine years.

He loved to work on watches and clocks and enjoyed fishing with his son.

He is survived by his wife, Vodella Davis; a son and his wife, Ron and Nicole Davis of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren, Laurel Hoyt, Justin Hoyt and Hunter Hoyt; a sister, Sue Jones of Henderson, Tenn.; two nieces and two nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Myra Holder.

A celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Gregg Funeral Home in Caraway with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Leachville Cemetery. Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Gregg Funeral Home in Caraway.

Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Kyle Haas, Ernest Banton and Len Powell and the men of Black Oak Assembly of God.
