Black Oak EHC Officers elected
Elections were held when Black Oak Extension Homemakers Club met May 14 at city hall in Lake City.
Re-election of all officers included Marie George, president; Sandra Nall, vice president; Marion Ball, secretary-treasurer and Dortha Banks, photographer.
It was noted Marie George, Sandra Nall and Marion Ball would attend the yearbook preparation meeting at the Jonesboro EHC Office on May 23. The Club decided to continue sewing, knitting or crocheting hats for the Childrens Hospital in Little Rock and to continue to try to help at the Lake City Museum.
The program, "Gluten-free Baking," was presented by Marie George, who has been living the gluten-free life style for nearly 12 years because of health issues. A lot of good information and recipes were shared.
The June meeting will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the city hall in Lake City. The program will be "Your Cultural Heritage." There will be hand outs, and the meeting should prove to be very interesting.
July will be the picnic meeting. The destination will be decided at the June meeting.
Any person in the communities around the area of Black Oak and Lake City is invited to attend the meetings. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month, usually at Black Oak unless otherwise specified, beginning at 9:30 a.m. When crafting takes place, a sack lunch is handy.
Black Oak is one of the oldest EHC Clubs and would like to see the number of members increase. There is so much to learn and do through the Club experience.
"Come and join us. You will not be disappointed," club member Marie George said.
