Saundra Sovick Harms with the Mississippi County Extension Service EFNEP (Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program) will be conducting classes in the Blytheville and Osceola Public Libraries.

Through the Kids in the Kitchen program, young people will learn to make healthy snacks to share with friends and family. The series of six lessons for youths 6-12 years old encourage healthier meal choices and include hands-on cooking experiences.

Youth will learn to prepare simple, healthy foods they can make for themselves and for other family members.

They will also learn good food safety practices with each lesson.

Kids in the Kitchen will be held from 10-11 a.m. in Blytheville Library on Monday, June 3, and will continue on June 10, 17, and 24, and July 1 and 8.

Osceola Public Library will host Kids in the Kitchen starting on Tuesday, June 4, 11, 18, 25, and July 2 and 9.
