Leachville Main Street Extravaganza Saturday

The City of Leachville will host the Main Street Extravaganza (formerly known as the Watermelon Festival) from 10 a.m. until midnight Saturday, June 8.

"We would like for everyone to come out and join us for food, fun and music throughout the day," Chairman Paula Bowen said. "There will be food vendors, ice cream, funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos, cake walk, $1 games for kids, inflatables, and a horseshoe tournament for adults. Door prize drawings will be held throughout the day."

Schedule of events:

10 a.m.: Main street opens. Opening ceremony with the Pledge and National Anthem by Clay Turner; sign-up for horseshoe pitching tournament, $10 entry fee singles/doubles with cash prizes; and cake walk.

10-10:45 a.m.: Kristie-Blessed; cake walk.

11 a.m. to noon: Clay Shepard's Fold; Hays Polar Roller arrives; Door prize drawing; horseshoe tournament begins; cake walk.

Noon to 1 p.m.: Kathy Sharpe; cake walk.

1-2 p.m.: Scott Hisey; cake walk.

2-3 p.m.: Nashville Skyline; door prize drawing; cake walk.

3-5 p.m.: Full service band.
4 p.m.: Door prize drawing.

5-7 p.m.: Scatter Creek.

6 p.m.: Door prize drawing.

7-9 p.m.: Southern Skies.

9-11:30 p.m.: Justin Heskett Band.

Midnight: Main street closes.

Vendor space is still available.

Booth rental fees are $25 for a single (20 ft.) and $50 for a double (40 ft.). Set up time is from 6-8 p.m. Friday and and 7-9 a.m. Saturday.

Fees should accompany the registration form and be paid before or at the time of set-up. Bring them by City Hall or drop them in the mail to P.O. Box 67 Leachville 72438. Registration forms are available at City Hall or can be requested by mail, fax or email.
