GED graduates honored at the Melody

The Arkansas Northeaster College Leachville branch GED Graduation was held at the Melody in Leachville on Thursday evening.

GED graduates at the Melody Theater in Leachville were honored. Pictured are Graduates Shannon Atkinson, Tiffany Denton, Bianca Munoz, Cheyenne Carter, McKenna Budding, Mickey Isabell, Jason Miller and Aaron Skinner.

Dr. James Shemwell, ANC president, ws the guest speaker.

Beth Thompson, ANC Adult Education coordinator, welcomed everyone. She expressed her appreciation to the families who supported the graduates, to the city of Leachville for allowing the graduation to be held in the Melody.

Other ANC staff members included Susan Robinson and Sarah Imler, instructors, and Candie Depriest, site adult Education Career Instructor.

Members of the PEO provided refreshments following the ceremony.

Several individual awards were presented. McKenna Budding received the highest score, a perfect score, in science. Cheyenne Carter also received high awards. Tiffany Denton was awarded the enthusiasm award. Mickie Isabell received the award of excellence. Jason Miller was presented with the creative writing/poetry award. Bianca Munoz received the dedication award and Aaron Skinner the language/writing award.

Shannon Atkinson was recognized for her hard work and dedication.

Dr. Shemwell called the night a time of celebration. He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to remember graduation is not the end, it is a beginning.
