George announces candidacy for circuit clerk seat
Cindy George of Osceola is announcing plans to seek the position of Mississippi County Circuit Clerk in the 2014 Democratic Primary.
George has worked in the clerk's office at the Osceola Courthouse since 2006. For the past four and a half years she has served as chief deputy clerk for Donna Hart.
Hart announced her intentions to retire at the end of her current term.
"With my experience I am qualified for the job and I enjoy serving the citizens of the county," George said. "This is more than just a job to me. It is a career and I love it. I will bring my work ethics, job experience and communication skills to the job. I am available 24 hours a day."
She said she has a good working relationship with the public and the office personnel, as well as area attorneys and judges.
George was born in Osceola, spent her teen years living in Germantown, Tenn., where she graduated from high school. She then attended William Woods College.
George returned home to Osceola 36 years ago. She is married to Bobby, has two sons, Jason and Chris; two step-children, Morgan and Megan; and five grandchildren, Ava, Ryder, Kyleigh, Taylor and Tripp.
She attends Calvary Episcopal Church where she is a member of the Vestry and a lay reader.
