Kenneth Henry Ashabranner, 79, of Jonesboro, died Saturday morning, May 11, 2013, at his home of natural causes. Born in Manila, Kenneth lived several years in Michigan where he worked for Chrysler Motors. He moved back to Manila and lived there before moving to Jonesboro 12 years ago. Kenneth was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed fishing and sports especially the St. Louis baseball Cardinals.He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lillian Powers Ashabranner.

Survivors include his wife, Venita McClendon Ashabranner of the home; one brother, Chester Ashabranner of Manila; two daughters, Donna (Ja) Carson of Jonesboro and Venisa Jones of Manila; three grandchildren, Brandi Coker, Jacklyn Lisk and Hunter Carson, all of Jonesboro, and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Lisk and Aidan Mizell, both of Jonesboro.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darrell Runyan officiating. Burial followed in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Bryan Heard, Terry Heard, Tim Chatman, Ja Carson, Jamie Lisk, and Leon Hurst.

Visitation was from 10-11 a.m. Monday in the chapel.
