Lloyd Welch, 93, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013.

He was born on March 21, 1920, at Batesville to the late William and Pearl Welch.

Mr. Welch served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II where he received the Bronze and Silver Star. He worked for many years at a horse track in Hazel Park, Mich., and for Hercules Forging. Mr. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and cards with his buddies. He attended the Monette First Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and for his sense of humor and smile.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Welch; two sons, Lloyd Welch and wife Janet of Clawson, Mich., and Douglas Welch of Ira Township, Mich.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until time of service at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are all of his card and pool playing buddies.
