Lady Mustangs gain wins over Riverside, Marmaduke

Buffalo Island Central outslugged Riverside 12-6 in 2A-3 softball action Monday afternoon at Lake City. Madison Greathouse went the distance to pick up the win. Greathouse helped her own cause, lacing a pair of singles while scoring three runs.

Kelsey Strickland tripled, singled and drove in a pair of runs. Catherine Colbert had two RBI and scored twice while Jodiee Clay went 2-4 with an RBI for the Lady Mustangs.

Anna Brickell socked a two-run homer for the Lady Rebels while Kaitlyn Hale added a pair of singles and scored once.

The Lady Mustangs (10-4, 8-1 2A-3) completed the week with a 3-1 league win Tuesday at Marmaduke. Greathouse picked up the win, hurling a five-hitter while giving up no earned runs. The sophomore right hander fanned five Lady Greyhounds.

Brittany Fowler led BIC at the plate, going 2-4, while Brittany Stockton, Kelsey Strickland and Karo Thomas all had RBI singles.

Riverside swept a pair of conference games at Lepanto, shutting out East Poinsett County 9-0 in the opener before completing the sweep with a 12-5 victory in the nightcap.

Emily Jordan (3-3) picked up the win in the first game. Jordan Miller clubbed a home run and added a single while Kaitlyn Hale finished with a pair of singles and an RBI.

Taylor Archer earned the win in the second game for the Lady Rebels. Jordan Miller belted a round tripper while Chaney McLean and Anna Brickell added two hits apiece.
