Deep River to sing at the Melody April 13

Collier Ministries will host gospel singing at the Melody Theater in downtown Leachville at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Sheila Collier expressed her appreciation to the city of Leachville for replacing the seats with very comfortable rockers and for repainting.

She also expressed a thank you to First Baptist in Leachville, First Baptist in Steele, Mo., and Trinity Baptist of Blytheville for hosting the past three singings at their churches due to the renovations at the theater.

This month the featured group will be Deep River of Blytheville. Deep River is a Southern sospel trio made up of two generations of the Welch family. The Welch family has been singing gospel music in one form or another for 30 plus years. The group in its present form known as Deep River has been singing since the late 1990s.

Emily Welch, Michael Welch, Dustin Welch, Jonathan Forsythe, and Mike Welch make up Deep River. Emily Welch sings tenor, Michael Welch sings tenor and baritone, as well as plays bass guitar or keyboard, Dustin Welch plays drums, Jonathan Forsythe plays lead guitar, and Mike Welch sings lead and plays the keyboard or bass guitar.

Also singing will be Paul T. Ross, Vickie Hill, Darvin Wheeler and Sheila Collier. Concessions available and it's free admission.
