Lady Mustangs stay unbeaten in area softball action

Sophomore Madison Greathouse pitched and hit Buffalo Island Central to a 10-4 victory over rival Riverside Thursday afternoon in 2A-3 conference softball action at Monette.

Greathouse (3-0) went the distance to pick up the victory while going a perfect 2-2 at the plate to lead the Lady Mustangs, who improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play. Greathouse gave up three earned runs while allowing eight hits.

Greathouse also scored four times and swiped four bases. Bailey Owens went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.

Anna Brickell rapped out a pair of hits and drove in a run to lead the Lady Rebel attack.

The Lady Mustangs scored six times over the final two innings to cruise past McCrory 12-5 Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Greathouse earned the victory with a complete game effort, giving up three earned runs on eight hits. The sophomore right-hander walked one while fanning nine Lady Jaguars.

BIC scored four runs in the first and held a 6-1 lead before McCrory used a four run fifth to close to within 6-5.

Riverside fell victim to Rector's offensive onslaught, losing 15-3 Tuesday afternoon at Lake City.

Kelly Fowler picked up the win for the Lady Cougars. Fowler also had a big day at the plate with a double, a single and an RBI. Anna Blackshare, Johnna Lopez and Courtney Shepard all had three hits apiece, while Lindsey Ford added two more to pace Rector's offensive attack.

Anna Brickell had a single and a double to lead the Lady Rebels.

Micalah Beall fired a two-hit shutout while striking out 11 to lead Rivercrest past Manila 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at Wilson.
