Ray O. Walton, 94 of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born on May 6, 1918, at Blytheville to the late John and Ida Walton.

Mr. Walton served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the Lake City Church of Christ. He was a mechanic for Ball-Hout Implement Company in Monette for twenty-one years and Navaho Trucking Line for sixteen years.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Rosalee Walton; four sons, Bobby Walton and wife Sue of Manila, Gary Walton and wife Marlene of Ozark, Mo., Jimmy Walton and wife Judy of Lockport, Ill. and Randy Walton of

Lake City; seven grandchildren, Holly Bird, Jason Walton, Andrew Walton, Alicia Walton, Mike Walton Davis, Steve Walton and Julie Stasiak; thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Walton; two grandsons, Ronnie Kip Walton and Gary Walton Jr. and three brothers.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Berry Bell and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service, Friday at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ray Dill and Jerry Hitchcock and his grandson, Jason Walton, Steve Walton, Andrew Walton, Justin Walton.
