Janice Marie Stidham, 53, formerly of Black Oak passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born Sept. 14, 1959, in Benton Harbor, Mich. Janice owned and operated Lil' Vera's Cafe in Monette for several years. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Stidham; her parents, Wilborn and Vera Kirby of Black Oak; two sons, Jonathan Williams (Taylor) of Desha and Scott Williams of Black Oak; three step-children, Jo Jo Stidham (Regina) of Southaven, Miss., Tina Bennett and Tiffany Pence, both of Piggott; five grandchildren, Colton Stidham, Brandon Stidham, Cheyanne Stidham, Destiny Stidham and Tyler Bennett.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Ernest Cornish officiating. Burial was private.

Visitation was from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers were Dewayne Blocker, Justin Gathright, Adam Cornish, Dustin Finch, Dr. Dennis Parten, Daniel Brady, Heath Brady and Dennis Gathright.
