Monette Manor celebrates Valentine's Day
It was a red day at Monette Manor on Thursday, Feb. 14. Residents and staff celebrated Valentine's Day with games, refreshments, music, and the crowning of the 2013 king, queen, prince and princess.
All of the staff joined in to help make the day special for the residents. Wendy Carpenter, activity director, announced the Valentine Prince and Princess, John Bankston and Alma Marshall. They were presented gifts.
The King and Queen, Clyde Cobb and Doris Ingram, were crowned. They were given robes, crown, candy, and flowers.
Residents and staff enjoyed music with Roger Roush singing and refreshments of punch and cupcakes.
Employees had the opportunity to guess how many candy hearts were in the jar for a prize.
Kristen Brewer won a bag with her guess of 254. The jar held 305 candy hearts.
