Young farmers to meet Feb. 26

Young farmers up to 45 years of age from Mississippi County and surrounding areas are invited to a seminar on modern day topics for professional farmers sponsored by the Mississippi county Farm bureau, reports Heath Adkisson, president.

The event will be held starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Northeast Research and Extension Center, Keiser, according to Heath Donner, chairman.

The use of Smart Phones in today's management decision will be discussed by Dr. Dharmendra Saraswat, associate professor, Extension engineer. More specifically his topic will be "Agricultural Applications for Smart Phones."

Also, on the program will be a discussion on commodity Outlook by Scott Stiles, Extension farm management specialist, University of Arkansas. Harry Williams, associate director, member programs, Arkansas Farm Bureau, will talk on programs available within the organization for younger families.

The discussion session will conclude with a "humor" presentation by Robert Earl Davis. Davis has "down home" stories and jokes related to real life situations.

The session will conclude after a well prepared lunch of barbecued ribs, chicken, baked beans, potatoes, drinks and dessert.
