BIC ousts Lady Rebels from District Touranment

Riverside freshman Skylar Kauke fires a free throw attempt in 2A-3 District Tournament semifinal action Friday night against BIC.

Buffalo Island Central broke open a close game in the fourth quarter, outscoring Riverside 18-7 to pull away to a 45-30 victory, eliminating the Lady Rebels from the 2A-3 Junior High District Tournament Friday night at the Mustang Athletic Complex in Monette.

Kayla Griffin led the Lady Mustangs with 13 points while Blaire Wildy chipped in 12 more.

Skylar Kauke led the Lady Rebels with 12 points.

Riverside began the tournament with a 42-38 victory Tuesday night over Rector. The Lady Cougars took a slim 7-6 edge after the first period and held a 16-14 lead at the half. Riverside rallied to take a 24-22 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Hattie Milligan led the Lady Rebels with 11 points while Skylar Kauke added 10. Madison Black chipped in nine points, Haven Robertson and Hannah Fisher tallied five points apiece while Britany Kelems added two points.

Tori Hill poured in a game high 26 points to lead Rector.

Skylar Kauke and Hattie Milligan were named to the All-Conference team.
