The annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser is underway and Carol Hamrick, BIC art teacher, is again volunteering to help in the Monette area. She will be sponsoring a roadblock at the stop light at Monette from 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. The Radio-Thon will also be held on Friday, Feb. 15.
BIC Students are selling Make-A-Wish stars and paper strips. The strips are in the colors of some of the cancer awareness colors. The strips will be stapled together to form a chain, and the grade that makes the longest chain will get to throw a pie in the face of Dr. Kima Stewart, elementary principal.
"This is a good cause and we hope the community will come by and donate to the roadblock," Hamrick said. "Donations are tax deductible.
