Ronald Wayne Riggs

Ronald Wayne Riggs, 75, of Manila, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at his home. Born at Leachville, he was the son of the late Thelmar "T.L." and Noma Stutts Riggs and the grandson of Manila pioneer, Flenord Riggs. He was a lifelong Manila area resident and was a retired printing press operator for the Blytheville Courier News. Mr. Riggs had been a member of the Community Methodist Church in Manila for 53 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lee Riggs, in 2012.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Daniel Riggs of the home; one son, Alan Riggs of Manila; two sisters, Sue Simpson of Paragould and Mary Atkinson of Krum, Texas; two grandchildren, Angel Hembrey and Kelly Stuart, both of Manila. He also leaves two great-grandchildren, Michael and Gaige Edwards.

Funeral service was 1 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
