She is filling the position previously held by Wanda Shasteen who has moved to the Craighead County Treasurer's Office.
Reams started working in the Lake City office on Jan. 14. She said she has had a good beginning and is learning the computer system.
"We have a great facility here and everyone has made me feel welcomed," she said.
Reams worked for 17 years in the assessors and real estate office at the Mississippi County Courthouse in Osceola.
She said she will miss the people she has worked with for many years but is looking forward to making new friends in her new position.
The Sheriff's office in Lake City is open five days a week.
Reams also said she plans to help with the DARE program conducted in area schools.
She and her husband, Tim Reams, live in Caraway.
