New constable serving Big Lake Township

It was unusual for Manila City Council member Larry "Whiz" Davis of Manila to be sworn in only once in January following the election. In addition to serving on the city council, Davis had served as constable for Big Lake Township for 25 years.

Davis congratulated the new constable for the Big Lake Township, Jackie Hill.

Hill serves as Manila Chief of Police and has many years of experience in law enforcement.

Davis said he enjoyed his 25 years of service as constable and expressed his appreciation to the people for allowing him to serve.

"Twenty-five years is long enough and it was time for me to step down," Davis said. "Jackie will do a good job."
