Lady Rebels post impressive 2A-3 conference victories

Riverside made short work of both McCrory and Cross County, picking up a pair of 2A-3 conference victories last week in senior girls basketball action. The Lady Rebels whipped McCrory 58-40 Monday night before pounding Cross County 62-16 Thursday night.

Kenzley Wilson led three Lady Rebels in double figures scoring 15 points, in Riverside's win over the Lady Jaguars. Natalie Milligan scored 13 points while Lauren Weaver added 12. Anna Brickell chipped in six points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Chelsea Nichols also scored six. Gattlin Hale tallied five points while Ashlyn Snyder added one.

Kendall Browning led McCrory with 12 points while Brook Womble added 10.

Chelsea Nichols and Ashlyn Snyder scored 14 points apiece to lead Riverside past Cross County. Kenzley Wilson tallied 12, Gattlin Hale scored seven, Natalie Milligan tallied six, Lauren Weaver contributed four, Catlyn Sailor chipped in three while Susan Sailor added two points.

Sarah White led the Lady Thunderbirds with 11 points.

In junior high action, Riverside nipped McCrory 25-22 before falling to Cross County 37-31.

Skylar Kauke scored nine points while Lauren Smith added eight to lead Riverside past the Lady Jaguars. Hattie Milligan netted four, Madison Black tallied three while Britany Kelems chipped in one point.

Riverside led 12-2 after the first quarter before McCrory rallied to tie the game 14-14 at the half. The Lady Jaguars held a 20-18 lead entering the fourth period before Riverside came from behind to pull out the win.

Rachel Wilson scored a game high 18 points to lead Cross County over Riverside.

Skylar Kauke led the Lady Rebels with 12 points. Lauren Smith tallied five while Britany Kelems, Madison Black and Hattie Milligan chipped in four points each. Hannah Fisher scored two points to round out the Rebel scoring attack.

Riverside returns to action Monday night, playing host to last season's 2A state runner-up East Poinsett County at Lake City. The Lady Rebels will begin NEA Tournament play Thursday night at 7:30 as the number eight seed. Riverside will take on ninth seeded Newport.
