Steven Bailey is the new Mississippi County Baptist Associational Missionary. He officially started his new position Dec. 3. He has served as pastor in Earle for the last 11-1/2 of his 40 years in the ministry.
He will be filling the position formerly held by Charles Lewis who recently retired.
Mississippi County is made up of 41 churches. Brother Bailey said he is looking forward to visiting the churches and working with the pastors. He said he has been driving throughout the county locating the different churches.
He and his wife, Margaret, have attended four different church services in two weeks. Mrs. Bailey is an elementary teacher.
"Mississippi County is a large county and we plan to get around to visiting all of the churches," Brother Bailey said.
Brother Bailey is a native of Pensacola, Fla. He has served as pastor of three churches in Florida, three in Alabama; and two in Arkansas.
The Baileys have three grown children, one in Arizona, one in Alabama and one in Pocahontas. They also have three grandchildren.
