Manila's Lady Lions fought their way to a pair of 3A-3 conference wins, defeating Corning 65-53 Tuesday night before disposing of Hoxie 58-54 Thursday night.
Emily Cook pumped in 18 points to lead four Lady Lions in double digit scoring. Joining Cook was Kirsten Adcock with 15, Shelby Wallace with 13 and Deven Burrow with 11. Kristen Wise and Taylor Teague rounded out the scoring with four points apiece.
Becca Young led the Lady Bobcats with 18 points.
Shelby Wallace and Emily Cook poured in 17 points apiece while Kirsten Adcock added 11 in Manila's win over Hoxie. Deven Burrow tallied seven, Taylor Teague netted four while Kristen Wise chipped in two points.
Courtney Sears and Krista Vankirk scored 12 and 11 points respectively to lead the Lady Mustangs. Manila grabbed a 14-7 lead after the first quarter and held a 32-26 halftime advantage. Hoxie fought back to take a 42-41 edge after three quarters of play. The Lady Lions outscored Hoxie 17-12 in the fourth period to pull out the win.
In junior high action, Manila swept to a pair of conference wins, defeating Corning 37-32 before downing Hoxie 41-22.
Taylor Harmon led Manila over Corning, scoring 13 points. Shae Kulin tallied eight, Jordyn Wheeler netted seven, Kaitynn Boatman chipped in five while Lauren Woody added four.
Kaitynn Boatman scored 12 points in Manila's victory over Hoxie. Taylor Harmon and Lauren Woody netted seven points apiece, Jordyn Wheeler tallied four, Shae Kulin and Hannah Teague chipped in three points each while Sarah Pentecost and Hannah McQueen tallied two points apiece. Courtney Scott chipped in one point to round out the Lady Lion scoring.
The Lady Lions will play host to Rivercrest Monday night before traveling to Piggott to take on the Lady Mohawks Thursday night in a pair of 3A-3 conference battles.
