Mr. Tom Houchin of Jonesboro departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at his home, at the age of 74. He was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Caraway, the son of Paul and Freda Roe

Houchin. Tom was a truck driver, had also previously worked in the timber business and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye "Bray" Houchin, and a sister, Shirley Houchin.

He is survived by two daughters, Tommye Childers and husband Mark of Tyler, Texas, and Penny Rothwell and husband Rick of Boise, Idaho; one brother, John Houchin of Monette; two sisters, Nettie Lou James of Monette and Diana Riggs of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandaughters, Stephaine Rudd and husband Harold and Kellie Elaine Rye; a grandson, Jacob Donald Rye; a great-great-grandchild, Liam Alexander Rudd; a special brother-in-law, Mickey Bray; a special nephew and good friend, Burney Peeler and a loving pet, Lit'l Bit.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Caraway with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating.

Friends visited at the funeral home prior to services from noon to service time. Interment followed in Caraway Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jason Parish, Joey Parish, Renny James, Cliff Scott, Robert "Bill" Gibbs and Jerry Hollihan. Honorary pallbearers were Mickey Bray, Burney Peeler, Jimmy Bratton, Wayne Nall and Paul "Doodle" Taylor.
