Manila Lions Plan pancake supper

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Manila Lions Club met Wednesday at the Depot Center discussing plans for the annual pancake supper which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.

Lion Randy Frakes will make signs for the event which will be held at the school cafeteria. The side doors of the cafeteria will be open. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and continue throughout the evening. The pancake supper will continue after the parade giving parade participants the opportunity to attend.

Tickets for the pancake supper are available from any Lion member or at the door.

The annual event is a Christmas tradition in the Manila area. Lion President Wendell Poteet asked about getting in contact with the Leo Club to schedule help. Lioness Donna Jackson said the Venture Crew and Scouts might be willing to help any way they can.

Lion Tom Jaco will start the bell ringing on Friday and asked for volunteers for Saturday.

Proceeds from the pancake supper and the bell ringing go to help with Goodfellow baskets distributed to families in the area.
