Lady Lions remain unbeaten
Manila Lady Lions stayed unbeaten on the year with a pair of blow-out wins in senior girls high school basketball action last week. Manila rolled past Osceola 67-43 Monday night before taking care of Harrisburg 59-28 Thursday night on the road.
The Lady Lions placed three players in double figures in their victory over Osceola led by Kirsten Adcock, who drilled four three pointers on her way to a 15 point night. Emily Cook pumped in 14 points while Kailen Shelton added 12. Kristen Wise and Devin Burrow had seven points apiece, Shelby Wallace scored five, Heather Wagley tallied four while Taylor Teague chipped in three points. Manila finished the night with nine three pointers as five different Lady Lions hit shots from beyond the arc.
Kalisha Gibson led the Lady Seminoles with 20 points while Wynneshaia Haymod added 12.
Taylor Teague poured in 15 points to lead the Lady Lions past Harrisburg. Emily Cook scored 12, Devin Burrow had 11 while Kailen Shelton added 10. Shelby Wallace pitched in nine while Kirsten Adcock added two to round out the Manila scoring attack.
In junior high action, Osceola got by Manila 35-29. Kaitynn Boatman led the Lady Lions with eight points while Taylor Harmon, Lauren Woody and Shae Kulin added five points apiece. Jordyn Wheeler, Courtney Scott and Hannah McQueen added two points each.
Harrisburg edged the junior Lady Lions 30-28 Thursday night. Taylor Harmon led Manila with a game high 10 points. Lauren Woody scored six, Kaitynn Boatman and Shae Kulin added five points apiece while Hannah McQueen chipped in two.
