Brady Jones torched the net for 31 points while Scott Eubanks pumped in 17 more to lead the Lions to a 62-47 win over Corning in 3A-3 conference action Tuesday night at Manila.
The Lions jumped to a 19-10 lead after the opening quarter before the Bobcats battled back to pull within 28-22 at the half. Manila stretched its lead to 43-34 entering the fourth quarter.
Dylan Bogle chipped in seven points for the Lions, Kyle Joyner added three while Dustin Sirmon and Zac Riley contributed two points apiece.
Trevor Barajas and Dalton Carpenter led the Bobcats with 12 points apiece while J.T. Wood added 10.
Corning took the junior high contest 51-34 as Tyler Vowell led the Bobcats with 18 points. Dalton Price added 10 points for Corning.
Jeremiah May led Manila with nine points while Jake Helton and Logan Hamilton scored seven points apiece.Tyler Johnson tallied six, Patrick Tanner had three while Matthew May added two.
The Lions traveled to Hoxie Friday night and suffered their first loss of the year, 66-59, at the hands of the Mustangs, in a 3A-3 conference tilt.
Colton Watson poured in 33 points to pace the Mustangs, who improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in 3A-3 conference action. Jacob Defries and Tristan Privett added 14 and 10 points respectively.
