Manila Nursing Center honored with luncheon

It was a day of celebration on Friday, Nov. 9, at Manila Nursing Center as administration, staff, volunteers, and community leaders gathered for a luncheon in recognition of the recent awards received by MNC.

Shari Doty, administrator, expressed her appreciation to everyone for helping make Manila Nursing Center the great facility it is. MNC has been named a 5-Star Facility for two years.

"We have had a great year thanks to the hard work of our staff," Doty said. "They are dedicated to the care of our residents."

On hand to congratulate the staff at MNC were David Barker, chief compliance officer, and Jon Knopp, marketing director for Reliance Healthcare.

Manila Nursing Center was among 17 Arkansas organizations to receive the Governor's Quality Award in September. MNC was recognized as a Bronze Award recipient. The National Quality Award is given by the AHCA/NCAL to facilities demonstrating dedication to their residents.

Representatives of MNC were recognized at the recent 63rd annual convention and exposition of the American Health Care Association's awards ceremonies in Tampa, Fla.

Plaques were placed in the lobby area of MNC.

The luncheon was catered by Bigg Butts Barbecue in Leachville.

Entertainment was provided by Vicki Hobeck.
