BIC chose the name STACHE (Space Transporting and Cargo Hauling Elevator) for their robot.
This is BIC's seventh year to participate and they have won six out of seven Best Awards.
This year they received Top Engineer Notebook Score; Top Oral Presentation; Top Booth Award; spirit and sportsmanship. They finished sixth in the Overall Robot Award which is five percent of the total score. They finished top in the total score. They also won the Founders Award for most ingenious design.
The team will go to the next level taking their robot to Ft. Smith Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
Members of the team are Lyndon Costilla, Larry Farmer, Scott Bowen, Drew McFall, Camden Metheny, Hunter Drury, Codey Pate, Tyler Heath, Braden Drury, Kyle Rollins, Christian Bradshaw, Zach Benham, Nichi Holt, Nikki Gordon, Katie Cotton, Hannah Harrell, Olevia Hughes, Kaytie Castanon, Elizabeth Boling, Caslyn Walls, Patsy Orinco, Carymn Ballin, Evan Long, Lauryn Bolt, and Justin Barnes.
Teachers serving as mentors are Steve Brummett, John Hantke, and Debbie Olive. Parent mentors are Jackey and Judy Drury and Billy and Paula Bowen.
