Caraway Festival draws crowd

The 12th annual Caraway Fall Festival was held Saturday, Oct. 27, with food, games, music, prizes, contests, antique displays, and much more.

Mark Shasteen sponsors the event each year and he expressed his appreciation to all of the local merchants and farmers for their help and donations in making the day a great success.

The fall festival has become a tradition in Caraway with activities for all ages. Vendors and booths were set up on Main Street, including a fish aquarium from the Arkansas Fish & Game.

Children enjoyed face painting, painting gourd contests, grinding corn the old-fashioned way and hand pumping water.

Visitors had a variety of food items to choose form including a bowl of beans made in a pot over an open fire.

The giant Caraway rocking chair was available for pictures as a way to remember the day.
