Fatal accident claims lives of two Manila women

A two vehicle head on collision on State Highway 226 west of U.S. 67 in Jackson County at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, claimed the lives of two Manila residents.

According to a preliminary State Police report, Andrea R. Benham, 22, and Felecia Davis, 25, from Manila, were killed. Benham was driving a Nissan XTR west on Highway 226. Davis and two children, Kayden Benham, 7 months, and Carson Benham, two years, were passengers. The children were transported to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis.

The driver of a 1991 Mack dump truck, Kevin Long, of Newport, was not injured.

The accident is under investigation.
