Lake City Mayor Jon Milligan acknowledged Bill Snyder, candidate for Lake City council, at the Sept. 17 council meeting.
Bids were opened for the resurfacing of Nash Street. Three bids were received and the council voted unanimously to accept the bid from Atlas Asphalt in the amount of $41,890, for the resurfacing of Nash Street, 20 feet wide, and 2,650 feet long with a two inch overlay.
Mayor Milligan told members Jerry Bowman wishes to have water, sewer and street dedicated to Miller Street by the City of Lake City.
The council voted unanimously to approve the request.
Council members were given a copy of the 2011 Legislative Audit Financial Statement and other reports for review. All council members present, Harold Barker, Tommy Eakins, Ann Davis, Jeffery Wisham, Danny Dunigan and Brenda Hutcheson, voted to accept and approve the audit.
The Council voted to allow Mayor Milligan to accept bids on vehicles belonging to the city including a 2004 Crown Victoria police car and a 1983 D50 Dodge pick-up truck.
The council approved a city-wide yard sale to be held Oct. 4, 5 and 6.
Mayor Milligan presented a proclamation for the City of Lake City proclaiming Oct. 5, "Go Pink for the Cure Day" to bring awareness to breast cancer awareness month, in accordance with Governor Beebe's Proclamation for the State of Arkansas.
