Dovie Irene Lambert, 94, of Paragould, former Leachville resident and widow of Mr. R.V. Lambert, died Thursday Sept. 6, 2012, at Greene Acres Nursing Center in Paragould. Born at Sulphur Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Sam and Dora Martin Smith and had been a Leachville resident before making her home in Paragould over 60 years ago. She was the former owner/operator of Lambert's Grocery in Paragould and was retired from LA Darling Fixture Manufacturing in Paragould. She was a longtime member of the First Church of God.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Earlene Blackburn, one granddaughter, Cindy Clark, two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by one grandson, Dennis Hodge of Paragould; one granddaughter, Darlene Davison of West Memphis. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was 10 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Rob Schumann officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
