Buffalo Island Central fired a 126 team total to take first place in high school golf action Thursday morning at The Links Golf Course in Jonesboro. The Mustangs defeated Bay and Weiner behind Jacob Sanders' round of 40 which won medalist honors. Ryan Stuck fired a 42 while Daniel McCormick came home with a 44.
The Lady Mustangs had two golfers competing as Brittany Stockton shot a 46 while Ashley Field completed her round with a 55.
BIC began the week by defeating Marked Tree in a dual meet at Three Rivers Country Club. Ryan Stuck led the Mustangs with a round of 44. Alan Carmichael fired a 46 while Jacob Sanders shot a 49 as the Mustangs finished with a team score of 139.
Blake Daniels tied Stuck with a round of 44 to lead the Indians, who shot a 166 team score. EPC's Corbin Truelove earned medalist honors with a round of 43.
East Poinsett County edged BIC 167-172 to win the girls match. Anna Claire Williams won medalist honors, shooting a 51 for the Lady Warriors. Shania Junyor led BIC with a round of 53, Rachel Simmons shot a 58 while Kaylee Greathouse finished with a 61.
BIC's boys shot a 124 Aug. 2 at The Links, beating teams from EPC and Marmaduke. Ryan Stuck led the way with a 39 while Jacob Sanders shot a 40 and Alan Carmichael had a 45.
Brittany Stockton took medalist honors for the Lady Mustangs with a 45. Ashley Field finished with a 53.
The Mustangs traveled to Manila July 31 and defeated the Lions and EPC in a three team match. BIC shot a team score 137, led by Daniel McCormick's 44. Jacob Sanders shot a 46 while Ryan Stuck finished with a 47. Manila finished second with a 155 while EPC shot a 159.
Scott Eubanks led the Lions with a round of 50. Alex Richard shot a 52 while Gage Owens fired a 53.
The Lady Mustangs were led by Brittany Stockton who won medalist honors with a round of 56. Rachel Simmons and Ashley Field both shot 59s.
Gracie Gillham led Manila with a 58 while Taylor Teague fired a 61.
Manila fell by two shots to Gosnell in boys golf action Tuesday afternoon at Manila. The Pirates' John Fuller won medalist honors, shooting a nine hole score of 41. Landon Woody led the Lions with a round of 44 while Alex Richard and Scott Eubanks carded scores of 45 and 48 respectively.
The Lady Lions defeated Gosnell 174-189 to win the girls match. Gracie Gillham took home medalist honors with a round of 55 to lead Manila. Taylor Teague fired a 57 while Karley Moore finished with a 62.
