Ray Faulkner

Ray Faulkner, 85, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 in Memphis. He was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Caraway to the late Charles and Sally Hill Faulkner. Mr. Ray was a lifelong farmer in the Caraway area and he enjoyed his cattle farm near Brookland.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Stone Faulkner; his children and their spouses, Myra and John Vail of Jonesboro and Rayburn and Judy Faulkner of Caraway; six grandchildren, Robin (Billy) Justice of Cabot, John A. (Suzanne) Vail of Jonesboro; Stacy Faulkner of Caraway, Kelli (Toby) Bradfield of Portageville, Mo., Sally Gestaut and Keith (Alexis) Gestaut all of Chicago; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan Justice, Lane Justice, Allen Vail, Blake Vail, Alexis Vail, Taylor Bradfield, Railey Bradfield and Gray Bradfield and special friends, Christy and Jeremy Dahl.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Gestaut; a son-in-law, Joseph Gestaut; nine brothers and sisters.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Ronald Faulkner, Harvey E. Faulkner, Charles D. Faulkner, Wayne Fires, Toby Bradfield, John A. Vail and William Maulding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Caraway First Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
