Porters to celebrate 50th anniversary

Col. Paul Porter (USAF retired) and Wanda Ann (Vermillion) Porter of Wilson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 11, at a drop-in reception from 2-4 p.m. at Wilson First Baptist Church.

Paul and Wanda were united in marriage Aug. 23, 1962, at Manila First Baptist Church with the Rev. Emmett E. Pipkins officiating.

The couple's children are Cody and Vera Porter of Jacksonville and the late Garry Dean Porter. They have three grandchildren, Chris Porter and Jenn Porter, both of California, and Laura Porter of Jacksonville, Ark.

All family and friends are invited to attend the reception hosted by the family. The couple requests no gifts.
