2012 Watermelon Festival held in Leachville

Leachville held its annual Watermelon Festival on Saturday, July 21, with games, booths, entertainment, food, and much more.

The high temperatures did not stop the activities including a watermelon eating contest, a watermelon seed spitting contest, a cake walk, a bubble blowing contest, Karoke, a hula hoop contest, limbo, a horseshoe tournament, basketball hoop shoots and much more.

Doug Masters provided music at the bandstand and live music was enjoyed for a street dance.

Chairman for this year's event was Tammy Stockton. She expressed her appreciation to everyone who participated.

A Watermelon pageant was held at the Melody Theater on Friday night.
