Caraway Lions Club is busy getting ready for the 66th annual Fourth of July picnic.

The carnival will begin Friday night, June 29, and run through July 4. The food venders will also start on June 29.

A parade will be held Wednesday, July 4. Line-up will be at Riverside East School at 8 a.m. and will leave at 9 a.m. Preregistration is not necessary for the parade. Anyone wishing to be in the parade can show up at the school.

"We welcome anyone who wants to be part of the parade," Bernard Berry, Caraway Lion member, said. "We want to have a good parade with lots of participants to kick off the day's activities."

Following the parade, the bandstand will open with Brother Ricky Stevens welcoming everyone and remembering servicemen and women. Following the ceremony, the Regeneration gospel group will perform.

Later in the day, there will be open microphone on the bandstand for individuals. Anyone wishing to sing will need to contact Bernard Berry at 219-3829.

Demolition derby will return inside the ball park beginning at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 per person. Following the derby, the annual fireworks display will be held.
