Life Scout Alan Woessner has completed his Eagle project and submitted the documentation to
Several months ago, Woessner conferred with Leachville Mayor Sheila Spurlock, in search of a
community need that could serve as an Eagle Project. He selected the City Park's childrens
playground facilities, which needed to have have new mulch applied to the surface surrounding all of the play ground equipment.
Woessner arranged for the assembly of a crew, requested the delivery of those supplies to be provided by the city, collected the equipment, issued a safety briefing and then directed the crew labor as needed to complete the project. Incorporated into the plan was a litter pick-up by the crew to improve the park appearance.
This achievement is the final step to be taken before Woessner appears before a Board of Review to be conducted at Camp Rockefeller during the week of June 17.
His upcoming promotion to scouting's highest rank, will cap a career of six years during which he has held many assignments and performed with excellence in all of them.
According to troop 42 records available to Scoutmaster Joe Hultquist, Woessner will be the first scout earn Eagle rank in more than 20 years.
