Arkansas Northeastern College's Foundation is pleased to announce the 14th Annual Wayne Taylor Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for Thursday, June 7, at the Big Lake Country Club in Manila. The tournament will be held in four-person scramble format at $175 per team, and the entry fee includes 18 holes, tournament shirt, lunch, and mulligans. Tee-off time is 8:30 a.m.
"We can't thank our many sponsors enough for their support and the Big Lake Country Club for allowing us to use their course," said Rachel Gifford, ANC Dean for Development.
This tournament is held annually to raise scholarship funds for Arkansas Northeastern College students who are residents of the Buffalo Island and the Bootheel of Missouri. Currently, over $60,000 has been raised by this tournament which garnered its name following the death of former ANC Foundation Chairman W. Wayne Taylor, of Leachville, who helped create the tournament in 1998.
"I think Mr. Taylor would be pleased to see that this tournament is still going strong and helping so many local students," said Gifford who hopes this year's tournament will earn more than $6,000 for scholarships.
"We are fortunate to have the support of many local businesses and individuals who understand the importance of education. Our tee-box sponsors are crucial to our ability to make money for scholarships. We couldn't do this without the support of our many tee-box sponsors, and we greatly appreciate the support of our local communities for giving to this worthwhile cause."
ANC wishes to thank the many major sponsors, tee-box sponsors, participants and country club staff who continue to make the tournament such a successful event. A sign-up sheet for teams is located at the Big Lake Country Club, or by calling Gifford at 870-838-2902.
