The Manila Class of 1962 gathered for a 50 year reunion on Saturday, May 31, at the Manila Depot Center.
Classmates attending included Brenda Christie Watson, Dorothy Carter Farrow, Wanda Vermillion Porter, Lola McCormick Penny, Brenda Lawson Puckett, Toshya Rice Wagner, Karen Philhours Campbell, Diane Hamm Christianson, Bell Beckman Lewis, Jimmy Bunch, Vernon McMinn, Bobby Eddings, Melvin Browning, Benny McCann, Bill Lester, Jerry Billingsley, Steve Lewis, Edwin "Skip" Evans.
The Class of 1962 had 60 graduates. Class officers included Steve Lewis, president; Harold Rainey, vice president; Diann Donner, secretary and Brenda Lawson, treasurer.
In the 1962 Who's Who, Harold Rainey and Bell Beckman were named the class favorites;
The group enjoyed a luncheon t the depot and several of the classmates toured the museum in the old train depot, and a visit to the school.
Karen Philhours Campbell and Bobby Eddings traveled the farthest and Benny McCann got the most children award. Jimmy Bunch got the most grandchildren award.
Diann Donner Powell was not was able to attend the reunion but she provided a special Manila Lions cake for the occasion.
A memory board for the known deceased classmates was displayed.
