Manila board hires boys coach

Manila School Board members met Wednesday and Thursday evenings, May 23-24, in special called meetings to interview for the position of head boys basketball coach. Current Manila Coach Bill Taylor announced his plans to retire as of June 30.

Superintendent Pam Castor announced the board made a decision on Thursday evening to hire Lee Wimberly to fill the position. The vote was unanimous 6-0. Members present included Tracey Reinhart, Dan Robbins, Johnny McCain, Brandon Veach, Jeremy Jackson, and Tony Crowell. Board member Tommy Wagner was absent.

The board interviewed several candidates before making their decision.

Coach Wimberly is originally from Rector and is currently employed in the Cabot School District.
