Buffalo Island Central School Board members met May 14 hearing Personal Policy Committee proposals, accepting resignation, and approving transfers.
Debbie Olive and Nancy Sills, representing the personnel policy committee, presented two proposals for the board's consideration. One was exchanging sick leave days for an additional personal day and the second was increasing academic requirement for seventh and eighth grade athletic participation.
The board will act on these proposals at the June meeting.
The board accepted the resignation of Janice White, East Elementary resource teacher.
Students transfers approved include Dalton Clark, 5, (Freedom of Choice) to Riverside; Scarlett Knowlton, 5, (Freedom of Choice) to Riverside; Emma Kirk (5), Luke Kirk, 6, and Jacob Archer, 16, to Manila (have always attended Manila).
A medical leave for the remainder of the school year was approved for Lisa Hale.
Administrative reports were given with topics including increases in operating expenses for the 2011-12 school year; staff salary increases; and congratulations to the senior girls softball team.
